The LightSheer Duet uses a dual laser and vacuum to take hold of the skin efficiently in problem areas. The suction of the vacuum takes hold of a larger area of skin and stretches the topical layer of melanin (your skin’s pigment cells) lightly so the laser can reach the unobstructed hair follicle. When the laser targets the hair follicle and bulb, there is a clearer path so the laser can concentrate on hitting pigments of the hair follicle directly. The hair follicle is then damaged so no further growth continues.
Unlike other laser hair removal treatments the LightSheer Duet is revolutionary in the results it provides. Other laser hair treatments don’t utilize the stretching properties of the skin to remove the threshold of melanin cells, allowing the laser complete unobstructed focus on the hair follicle. Because the LightSheer Duet is directed to the hair follicle alone, this treatment is gentler on your skin overall. Other laser treatments can damage skin in the process, but not with the LightSheer Duet.
You can tackle more areas in one treatment than ever before, with treatment sessions ranging anywhere from twenty to sixty minutes. Since the treatment-targeted areas are larger, the machine can handle more hair follicles. We estimate that the treatments are anywhere from 8-12 sessions. This treatment is permanent after the full required sessions are completed and is the best treatment out there for dark, coarse hair.
Laser hair removal is a procedure, which removes hair from the body utilizing a long pulse laser. Laser hair removal has been in use since 1997 and the treatment is performed by a specially trained laser specialist. Laser heat disables follicles from producing hair. As hair grows in cycles and various hairs enter their growth cycle at different times, about 8-12 treatments at intervals of 4-8 weeks apart are necessary to disable most of the follicles in a given area.
Because the laser targets pigment, it does not work on white hair. As long as there is some color in your hair, our system will be effective. During your consultation, we will discuss with you the area of concern and answer all of your questions to ensure you are confident about the procedure and comfortable with our staff. Any medical conditions you may have can also be discussed at your consultation.
Yes, our laser hair removal is permanent. It may take multiple treatments, but after each session, your hair will grow back progressively lighter and finer than before.
In one pulse, the laser removes all the hair in a patch of skin the size of a nickel or quarter. Generally, it is not more painful than waxing, though the sensation is different. With each pulse, the feeling resembles a rubber band snapping against the skin for a second. Pain is only felt while the laser is hitting the skin and doesn’t last. Most people do not require an anesthetic cream, though one can be prescribed to more sensitive patients.
Most patients need at least 8-12 treatments spaced 4-8 weeks apart. Because hair grows in cycles, several sessions are necessary in order to affect all hair on any given area. Due to the length of hair growth cycles, treatments are usually needed once every 4-8 weeks. Hair cycle length varies depending on the body part.
Shedding of all treated hair should be expected within 2-3 weeks of each treatment. Once the hair sheds, patients should experience a hair-free period for several weeks. Once new hair comes in again, patients should come in for their next session.
Avoid heat stimulation such as hot baths or showers, saunas, and steam. Avoid cardio exercise and swimming as chemicals in the water may cause irritation. Additionally, perfume, body lotions, after-shave, make-up, and deodorant should not be used as they may sting the skin. You may apply an aftercare product such as Aloe Vera to help the skin recover. If you have any adverse reaction or you are concerned, please contact us so we can assist you.
